While creating puzzle artwork is my first rodeo, the seek and find idea has hounded me for a few solid years. During that time, I have had many different ideas about how to go about creating the artwork. About a year ago, I thought it would be really cool to hand draw the artwork…this was also the year of my great obsession with copic markers, which of course meant I decided that would be the medium I’d use.
Night after night I would draw up my ideas, ink them, colour them and then put a white outline around them, because why not? Then for some insane reason I decided to cut them all out!
Eventually the creative cloud cleared and the realism of the situation struck hard and fast. Although not impossible, my method was flawed.
Regardless, are a few photos of the attempt at a copic marker version of The Epic Battle.
